Art Classes in Suffolk and Norfolk

Beginners Drawing and Painting Art Class Suffolk & Norfolk

Thursdays 10-12, Botesdale, starting 22nd January 2015,
£75 for 5 lessons, All Welcome, (tiny Group, max 4)

In this tiny (ie 4 students!) Beginners Art Class you will find a friendly, supportive atmosphere in which to learn drawing and painting in any medium. This will give you the skills and confidence to progress to the Creative Drawing and Painting Class, the Mindful Art Course or more advanced Art Workshops. In such a small art group with plenty of step-by-step art tuition, drawing and painting demonstrations, discussions and individual guidance with a qualified, experienced Art Teacher and Creativity Coach, students are often delighted they can progress faster than in larger art classes. There will only be beginners in this art class, so you are all in the same boat embarking on an exciting journey of creative exploration! Lots of individual, step-by step-tuition and demonstrations will quickly help you start exploring a range of art materials including pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolour paints, watercolour pencils, ink, oils, acrylics and mixed media.

After 29 years' teaching art, I am convinced that anyone can learn basic drawing skills if they are motivated to do so, rather like we can all write - it's not rocket science! What we then do creatively with these skills is something different, which is why a Creative Drawing and Painting Art Class is offered.

Creative Drawing and Painting Class in Suffolk and Norfolk

Thursdays 12.45-2.4t, Botesdale, starting 22nd January 2015,
£75 for 5 lessons, All Welcome, (tiny Group, max 4)

Do you have some basic drawing and painting skills, and now feel you would like to explore ways of developing these skills to express yourself creatively through art?

Are you interested in learning how to do art projects to develop your ideas in more depth?

A tiny art group with four students maximum, this weekly Creative Art Course in Botesdale, Suffolk aims to help you explore and develop exciting, creative ways of expressing yourself through drawing and painting. If you already have at least some basic skills in drawing and colour mixing, and would like to explore creative approaches to drawing and painting in a supportive, stimulating, fun atmosphere, then this could be the art course for you.

As well as teaching the 'how to' of drawing and painting, experienced art tutor Zangmo Alexander also encourages you to explore a 'toolbox' of inspiring drawing and painting materials, methods, understanding and ideas. This enables you to discover your own, personal way of artistically expressing yourself, making this an exciting journey of creative exploration, experimentation and self discovery. Rather than following a set 'house style', you will find a variety of styles in this art class, from representational to abstract.

There is no one 'right' way to draw and paint. Come with an open mind and a willingness to experiment! Exercises, projects, discussions, talks, demonstrations and individual tutorial guidance are offered. Zangmo will often offer a focus or project theme as a starting point for the group, and there is always the option of doing your own thing and getting tutorial support as and when you want it. Teaching covers both representational, traditional approaches and more contemporary, experimental approaches.

You are also encouraged to explore different art media including watercolour painting, watercolour pencils, oil painting, acrylic painting, gouache, mixed media painting, collage, pencil, ink, pastel painting, charcoal and even using digital photography as part of your sketchbook!
